Hi, we’re OCE!

We create shared experiences for all undergrads, grads, faculty, and staff to step away from their day-to-day routine and explore opportunities that promote connection and growth beyond the resume.

We are pro-participation; perfection is not required.

We aspire…

to cultivate a Princeton campus culture that values sharing the varied passions and experiences of our community in ways that transcend roles, hierarchies, and disciplines.

OCE was established in 2019 with the core goals of designing and launching the new Wintersession initiative, as well as offering other avenues for meaningful cross-campus engagement.

Other Key Projects

  1. We believe that joy and fun matter and should be cultivated.

  2. We promote growth beyond the resume and focus on optional, low-pressure engagement.

  3. We prioritize and seek to contribute to the mental, social and emotional wellbeing of the Princeton community.

  4. Though undergraduate and graduate student community-building, learning, teaching and enrichment is the central focus of OCE, we welcome our whole University community to participate.

  5. We prioritize quality over quantity when it comes to our programming decisions.

  6. Inclusion, equity and universal design are all foundational to how we design and approach our work.

  7. We seek out sustainable sourcing for OCE’s food and materials.

  8. We encourage and model respect for the time and effort of those who help to lead our programming, including, but not limited to, OCE staff, Wintersession facilitators, Princeton Research Day presenters, peer to peer educators, campus partners and local community members.

  9. We recognize that personal growth and fulfillment can come from trying new and unexpected activities.

  10. We strive to make experimentation, exploration, and connection the goal of engagement, rather than productivity.

We believe that everyone on campus has skills and knowledge to share with others.
